For my friend’s birthday, I bought her a gift certificate to my favorite fabric store and an apron pattern.  The plan was that I would take her to pick out her favorite fabrics to make her an apron.  It took us awhile (ok, 9 months!) to synch up and get to shopping, but we finally did it!  She picked out some lovely Amy Butler fabrics and I got to sewing.
